Summary : Many people have joined the growing movement for sustainable as well as eco-friendly development. So the 'Green buildings' are booming recently, the buildings which can save a lot of energy and protect the environment at the same time. They are designed to save energy and water, and make use of materials that do not damage the environment.

For example, Clackamas High School in Oregon have notably big windows . Big windows mean lots of natural light and less need for eletricity during the day. Also the building is equipped with special sensors turn off the lights automatically when there are no people, saving a great amount of energy. Plus, the sun can supply natural heat as well as light, keeping the building warmer even in winter without any intended heating system.

Moreover, Calhoun School have an entire rooftop garden. This green roof blocks more of the usn's heat than a regular roof, making the building cooler in summer. At the same time, the plants keep heat inside the building from escaping, making the building warmer in winter.

We could find some another wonderful example in a library in Santa Monica. They have special drainage system. It could save a huge amount of rainwater Then, it is used in toilets and for watering the grass.

Furthurmore recycled materials---including newspaper, and plastic milk containers---is now rising as a wonderful materials for construction. Also many buildings are now constructed with 'Bamboo' rather than the wood------since bamboo is fast growing plant compared to the other plants. So, we could save our green forest by minimizing the deforestation.

Although only a small number of building s have green features, but with the affect of 'Green trend', a lot of buildings are now becoming healthier and greener.
